About this course

Course overview

The ITIL 4 designation for the seat at the executive table — not the seat at the SOC desk.

Where ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) is built for the operations leader running CDS, DSV, and HVIT, the Strategic Leader designation is built for the IT executive translating digital strategy into service-organization execution. SL requires two modules: DPI (the same strategy/governance/improvement module that anchors MP) and DITS (Digital and IT Strategy — SL's defining course). This five-day bootcamp goes deep on both, with the cross-module integration that makes SL useful to the senior leader rather than just exam-passable.

Day 1 covers DPI Direct + Plan. Day 2 finishes DPI with Improve + a timed mock. Days 3–4 go deep on DITS — digital strategy, disruption response, business models, leading the digital organization, strategic portfolio management. Day 5 integrates DPI ↔ DITS, runs both module mocks, and closes with a 60-day pathway plan to sit both exams.

Frequently asked questions

Still have questions?

How is SL different from MP?
MP (Managing Professional) is for the operations leader: CDS / DSV / HVIT modules + DPI. SL (Strategic Leader) is for the executive: just DPI + DITS, with the leadership/strategy emphasis. Both share DPI; the differentiating module is DITS for SL and CDS for MP. Many senior IT leaders eventually pursue both designations.
Is ITIL 4 Foundation a prerequisite?
Yes. ITIL 4 Foundation is required for both DPI and DITS. If you don't have it yet, take ITIL 4 Foundation (2 days) first.
Are the exams included in the price?
No. AXELOS / PeopleCert exam delivery is handled separately for both DPI and DITS. We focus the bootcamp on instructor-led prep; exam vouchers and proctored scheduling are coordinated through PeopleCert outside the engagement, unless explicitly bundled in a private cohort.
Is this an ATO-accredited delivery?
No. SL is an AXELOS framework and official accredited delivery requires PeopleCert ATO licensing. This course is preparatory training — fully covers the exam content but exam scheduling and accredited-trainer credentialing are handled outside the engagement.
Can this be delivered as a private cohort?
Yes — and most SL cohorts run private. Private deliveries can use your real digital-strategy and service-management context, include your CIO and senior leadership team for the DITS modules, and bundle a follow-up coaching engagement covering DPI and DITS exam-prep windows.
